Turbulence ahead? Endtime maybe, A New Beginning

I admit, I often feel quite pessimistic about what I see around me. What I see in the news on climate heating, and the measures taken by countries, which seem to go far too slowy. And what I see in the streets in the cities. So many faces: People in hurry, people far away, people in isolation.

At the other side I see the ‘bright side’ of life and our society. Automotive companies changing rapidly into non-fossil engines. And almost all political parties now being aware that climate change and nature has to be a main topic. I myself was not that aware of this it until 2008, the year of my personal transition.

And it feels all connected… consumeritus and a largely deprived society. Especially in the cities: People come to live next to each other based on a $$$ house allocation process, not based on that they become family-like systems taking care of each other. That this happened seems – even though it is sad- to have a reason: To break down the structures how people were allocated over houses before: Rigid (biological) family and village structures, religion based ‘zones’, etc.

But how are we going to redevelop cities from the social ‘ghost towns’ as they partly feel to be now? People can hardly move, space in many cities is difficult to get. Prices are high, so are the loans. What I want to say: It is not that easy to make people change places and form social cohesions with each other.

In the Netherlands the costs of care taking are rising year by year. Care taking seems to become more and more a thing only done if $$$ is paid. And people living close to each other consider care taking as something to be done by ‘somebody’, but not by them (in general).

Ghost towns giving space and a financial crisis?

I don’t expect that policy makers or humans can make the turn to lower consumption and / or a more ecological production system soon enough. Thus, to be honest, I hope the ‘universe’ brings a financial crises. From another perspective: This crisis feels unavoidable.

What will happen than is hopefully that 1. Mass production drops with more than say 30%. 2. People finally become aware that a financial system that creates 1 dollar of debt with each dollar created, is a dead end street. 3. That our society is clever enough to make the transition path without many casualties.

And what I also feel to be logical is that cities than become partly ‘ghost towns’ from respect that many people will, and or leave the cities: They cannot pay for the house anymore. I have seen pictures of ghost town village in the UK, even now, 10 years after the previous crisis.

There can be a bright side in this. And that this is, that via this ‘exodus’ people start to move in a way they otherwise would not do. And that this finally brings a platform in which we can organize ‘togetherhoods’ in a more organical fashion, and keep $$$ driven processes out of there.

Reorganizing the agriculture -or meat production- ‘grasslands’ into food-forest and semi permaculture living zones could be a transition key. You can read more on this soon at the section ‘vision papers’ at www.transitieportaal.nl

End time, A New Beginning

For me the tales in books like the bible on an ‘end time’ seem to come true. Even the sign of the beast ($$$ for me) goes around. Nearly everything, and or service between people needs to be sold or possessed. In addition we have periods of dryness never seen in the Netherlands.

Hurricanes, fires, etc. seem to pop up more and more.

How to respond on this is ones personal choice. Or ‘response-ability’. Become numb. Or frightened. Or try to ‘dig in deeper’ in the ‘iconomy’ (economy of the beast). Or… or, open the eyes with wonder on a new possible world which could be manifested if we sail our ships through this choppy water.

For me, looking at the world and reality as described in this article helps to stay faithful. And to remain hopeful.

In such… this End time, is required to make a New Beginning. And who knows, this is the ‘kingdom come’ period, a new harmonic cohesion of all the people and species dwelling on earth.

With a religious neutral greeting,

PS1: For those living in the Netherlands – you can join a camp in summer to connect with fellow spirited people. See www.transitieportaal.nl. And you can attend this festival seminar November 23, 2019 in Amersfoort.

Redesigning mental health care – ‘Lifejammed Diagnosis’ book synopsis

Today I read new statistics on suicide in the Netherlands. These figures rise. And all kinds of institutions tumble over each other on setting statements on why this is. People tend to point the finger for example at recent cost reductions on the mental care system.

I think most studies miss the fundamental reason, my hypothesis: The mental health care pathology makes people often more sick and ‘life jammed’ than they were before entering that ‘system’.

I wrote a book on this, based on my own experiences of getting ‘jammed’ in life in 2007/2008. I refuse to use the word ‘depression’.  I was labeled ‘depressed’, and experienced no sense behind it. Putting this diagnosis on me was actually my final ‘sting of the knife’ which put me over the edge. To try to commit suicide. (In addition I got some other ‘life sentence’ feeling diagnosis, leaving no hope for me to pick up my role in society, and pay for our mortgage. Giving a big fear on needing to sell the house for a far more lower price than we bought it, due to the financial crisis following on Lehman Brothers bankruptcy in 2008 – this is one of the reasons why I want to help to solve the mortgage and debt issues in the world) In my personal research later, on how the mental care system does its analysis on people I found out that there was actually no analysis method for depression. So on what basis are people labeled ‘depressed’? (In the book ‘Diagnose Levensklem’ there is a more in depth elaboration on this subject)

I did not speak on the subject of suicide often in the recent years as I tend before. But I feel it is my call to do so. Many people do not like the subject. It remains heavily loaded. But I survived. Many do not. And, an interesting fact: All those organisations and institutions never contacted me after. To learn on why I recovered. This is a sign on the wall itself… My hypothesis: Investigating those ‘strange recoveries’ (I know quite some stories) will disclosure a counter productive pathology. And the end of the nowadays mental care system as we know it.

And billions of dollars are entangled with this, big pharma prescribing pills, psychiatrists loosing their jobs, etc. So, from that direction it requires people who dear to risk their jobs, and set their ego’s aside to create that new mental care system.

The book ‘Diagnose Levensklem’ (Dutch for ‘Diagnosis Lifejammed’) I don’t expect to be translated soon to English. So it feels senseful to publish this synopsis in English. And as many people seem to stop reading thick books, it might be senseful for Dutch readers as well. To grasp the essence in a view words.

Below I made a diagram of the about 7 diagnosis I got in less than a year time. I seemed to have to survive the ‘mental care system’ in addition of the life jamming situation I found my self in. About I won’t talk in this article, except mentioning that when I hear about somebody in the same situation I think: I can understand that you lost hope in life, and cannot find a solution your self.

We made the mental care system far to complex. Cause of peoples problems and solutions are far more simple than therapists state. But… we do often not have the tools to implement a solution, because that might require ‘little recovery villages’ for the more extreme situations. For example. And these do not exist yet. Or making a real transition in life. Leave the job and setting people were in. But where can they go?

Analysis of my case – Lifeline and diagnosis

Mental Health Care Revisited – Case Iwanjka Geerdink illustrating ‘stupidity’ in the nowadays pathology

The diagram above describes the ‘crazy’ thing of labeling me with about seven different diagnosis in nearly one year time. All making no sense in the end. And I heard quite some similar stories…

I hope many students in this field will start to do case studies and investigations on why the mental care system went -hypothesis- so ‘corrupt’. (I want to note that the mental health system does not stand alone in this, many society sub systems seem to have entered the end of a life cycle: banking, energy, food production, politics, law systems, etc. You are invited to read the book 2012, The Chaos Point, by Ervin Laszlo, describing these patterns elaborated profoundly).

I did some research myself. And what I read about how the nowadays mental care system developed said enough. Made it logical. For example: I read about Freud and how ‘his models’ where copied throughout the world: I read a book by Kate Millet, Sexual Politics, she describes how there is even a connection with powerful forces aiming to repress women in the USA: Freuds teachings gave a tool to declare women who ‘stood up’ as being ‘sick’, and ‘put hem away’, in such giving his models wings into the world.

Well, that system in essence seems now to be used in the mental care system (DSM V) globally.

This, of course is a very ‘short cut’ analysis, and it feels not my call to write a book on it. And Freud also brought a lot of good things. And as stated before: Maybe a his works got abused in a corrupt way to fulfill corrupt other powers… And many other people where or are involved in the creation of nowadays mental health care pathology. I hope many people start to feel the call to do so. We can learn from history.

Some essences from my viewpoint on the construction of a new ‘mental’ health care system

  1. Bring often found causes back to some essences. I came to three main ‘root causes’ of so it seems practically all ‘disorders’: A. Trauma in the past (incest, bullying, emotional empty parenting, etc.). B. Practical issues in the ‘now’ (debt, locked in life, relations, living isolated, over-stretched, parenting-load, etc.). C. Society. Read the book Veronica decides to die, by Paulo Coelho, and you know what I am pointing at. In this book a young girl who seem to ‘have it all’ decides to commit suicide. She cannot stand the ‘evil’ things in society anymore. (Is there any psychiatrist which has given somebody this logical diagnosis?) I think many -especially you people- suffer deep withing from seeing so much bad things in the world: Nature dying, many adults not being nice with each other, lying society leaders, etc. And, for me very important: Many grow up in a semi isolated state. Living alone together sort of. That is why I strive to contribute to more communal parenting and living time in general. Mark my words: I don’t mention that I strive for communities(!).  In the book ‘NovAMORe’ I wrote more on this subject (subtitle: Newfamly, novAMORe and Emotude, a Living Love Manifest).  You can download it on my books page.
  2. Analyse the ‘system’ in which somebody is. The person is mostly not sick, it is a social context diagram which is mostly ‘ sick’. The book A normal Personality, by Stephen Reiss, can help in understanding these dynamics.
  3. Design a recovery path, combine ideally 50% peer group or peer experiences in this. People who partly encountered the same, but recovered, or are further in recovery. I read in a Dutch book that actually during World War I a psychiatrist found out that organizing peer support ‘communal living’, facilitated by him / his staff worked far better than individual sessions. These findings were ‘neglected’ by the mental health care powers of that time [Link to the section, in Dutch]. A reason I, with fellow social entrepreneurs started to organize camps ourselves (but feels to require far more occurrences and special focus, and organized by city governments).

And often somebodies situation is a combination of the aspects above. (Extreme) religion often also takes a part, for me a reason to contribute to bringing the essence of global religions to the surface. Which is for me ‘living love’.  And many other parts of religious systems conflict with living love. I hope people themselves start to reflect on this as well, and start discussion groups with there peers.

Some final words

I started this article with the rising number of suicides in the Netherlands. And that the ‘mental care system’ probably will say that it is a result by cost cutting. I hope political parties will read this article. And find an argument that actual cost cutting in the nowadays mental care system makes -how painful a well for clients, there is no alternative yet- makes sense.

At the same hand cities will hopefully start to continue and enlarge for example the above sketches examples of peer support camps. Which can be organized with -I estimate- about 5% costs of what a ‘treatment’ costs nowadays. And will prove to be positive for the people involved, compared with many negative experiences in nowadays care system.

My hypothesis is we can create an alternative which brings down the suicide number with more than 30%, and maybe even 90%. We can use the 21th century to experiment with alternative instruments and scale up those who work.

And… nobody is to blame. People working in the nowadays care system did not do so to make people ill. And actually, more and more people in that system become ill themselves. So, it might be good for all involved that the whole system gets re-invented.

It might sound strange, I don’t aim for a world without psychiatrists. I read a book on Jung. I liked the way he seemed to have worked: Being a clients equal. Conscious on that a new encounter would also change him (not doing so explains partly for me the high rate of psychiatrists getting sick themselves). Open for emotion and contact (but remaining professional or better: Aware of his role and the possible effect of this role on his clients). See the essence of a ‘spirit’ in nature, and its potential on giving signals on direction for people involved. The same for dreams. Being open for a kind of spirituality. Actually ‘psyche’ means ‘soul / spirit’ (Greek language, psyche-iatry). So, if psychiatry picks up this path again, there is a great future ahead for this profession I feel.

My lasts words are aimed for society. Which more and more for me feels like an anti-society: People living in isolation next to each other in appartement (apartments, is that another word for ‘separation houses’?). People working to earn $$$ (sign of the beast for me in biblic terms). Getting sick. Children being in the tension of it all. Getting sick often. So, if we want to help our mental care system, we should start digging in our society building blocks. And start experimenting with for example social cohesive living zones (in which people choose to live with each other). And get rid of a debt based currency making things constantly more expensive and soul-less (Ziny Currency is about that).

This is the most important part: Cure society. Or maybe more reachable: Rebuild society;-)

Living an inverse life?

Camp life...
Camp life…

“Friction between your true self and conformism might result in trauma and numbness” ~Iwanjka

I passed four days at Luxembourg, a campsite near Berdorf to be more precise.

In my ‘previous life’ (untill 2008, my burnout and transition moment), I had been I guess for about 30 times to this place. The primary focus: Rock climbing.

The normal sequence: Work for about 40 to 60 hours during the week, pack things in the car Friday evening. Drive till about 1 AM. Sleep, and hit the rocks the day after. On Sundays the opposite sequence, hoping not to join a one hour traffic jam somewhere on the road back. And Monday be at work again at -sometimes- 7 AM.

Rock climbing had been my rescuer in a ‘low state’ in my life when I left school and went to university. Using my body, vitalize it, be part of a group system and spent climbing trips in nature gave me new energy. Further on in my life, when I started working as a consultant in banking industry I think it was my main source of energy to survive in these -basically- poisonous environments.

In this trip I went on my own. I could share the ride from the Netherlands with a new dear friend, Niels Baloe. We went with his car. I met Niels at a Transition Towns national day in the Netherlands some years before. He is dedicated in making a off grid gather house, with for example a 12 volts network (solar) and permaculture garden. And facilities for group gatherings. What a quite and nature abundance I experienced. This is his website, he also gives courses in non violent communication and off-grid living.

As being on my own, I did not have a climbing partner who could belay me. I did bring a rope with me though. And I had figured out a plan how I could belay myself once I had my rope through a carabiner above in the rocks ‘toprope solo’. But that required also somebody else to get it there;-)

I arrived Wednesday. It was fairly quite in the rock climbing area. Maybe six people. I decided not to ask them, it felt intrusive. Rock climbers couples can be pretty ‘self focused’. And also I wanted to experience this journey if I changed my attitude to my climbing habit: Was it still an escape and with that, a sort of addiction? Could I stand being with rocks, and not able to climb there?

I enjoyed nature, did some wanderings, did quite some work, which – thanks to mobile internet- could be done anywhere. And I felt not obsessed with climbing;-) So, a next phase on this for me: Climb from a more healthy perspective: Joy and keeping my body vital. Almost forgotten to mention: I also did two barefoot mountain runs, to train for the 2018 Ventoux-Malawi Fund raise project.

My return traject I planned to do by train and bus. For the first time. To put my words and intentions into action: Travel with far less fossil usage (not by a fossil car).

Inverse living…?
And now I come to the core thing I observed: By being able to be in that climbing area during the week it was nice and quite. In the weekend I didn’t want to be there actually.

I had been striving already 20 years ago to tune my life in the direction I could be there during the week.. and now it happened. Whoopy! And it again makes me realise how attached we are to all kinds of obligations and schemes… Work, school, children care, children school, schemes of our partner (climbing normally takes two, etc.).

In addition: I could take the ecological-better travel alternative because I had been able to change my life and do not have a static working schedule. In such I take a whole day for traveling by bus and train (Monday) (by car it is 3,5 to 5 hours driving). And, as migrating to a mostly mobile worker, I could do for about 5 hours work while being on the road.

About changing my life: A burnout made me change my life, I don’t think I would have quit my old working life and mortgage situation, etcetera, without that burnout. I hope that when more and more people make a transition. And share it, more and more people can make a transition without undergoing a deep personal crisis (also having a deep impact on ever one around them!).

Camp life dynamics…
How I love the camp life, in opposite to the living in concrete ‘bricks in the wall’… The freedom to go with the sun. The openness of fields and tenst, why you meet by accidence new people and sit around a fire together. Or ask people you like to join, and spent some days together. And children walking around in their little village (the campsite), making direct new friends at the trampoline and swimming pool. No need for daily journey to sporting clubs, schools, etc. (if we can arrange school at the campsite). As long as things are neither too big, or too small.

These things I miss in nowadays cities.

About camping and season: Camping in winter I don’t like, why do Dutch people have a long summer holiday and go south, instead of doing this in winter?). [Maybe future work, add Tranzhumance link.]

And what a different life we could live if we change the underlying fundamentals. That we organize society in such way being can move, travel, school everywhere, etc. Is this an Utopia? I don’t think so.

Imagine (permaculture) style food facilities around these campsites. In which people work themselves for maintaining them.

And I realize more and more, that it is not my duty (or burden) to help everyone to be able to live like this. I have been struggling too much with this the past 10 years I think. Their part, is a part of their own response-ablity. Everyone has the opportunity to build their own reality untill a certain level. But it takes personal action to start making steps. First for a day. Than three days a year. Than maybe some weeks. Than maybe a month. Etc.

Create your own heavens
I can try to find and make the places where I can settle and be there for a while, with like minded people if possible. I started to name this instant community. And keeping a harmonic balance with my biological family, and children care taking. Make -and contribute to- my own little heavens. Maybe this is what the ‘easy little quite valley’ stands for in my name poem. [maybe future work: add link]

And maybe you can find or make your little heavens too. Or maybe we can join in this;-)

And I can share experiences to the world (like writing this article), and hope to inspire those who deeply inside feel the desire for this way of life in their soul burning. Who feel sick about daily routine of going to work, feeling too deprivation and isolated where they live. And I can-and do- contribute to create interconnecting facilities to connect places and people. But I cannot do this on my own. Together we can make it work.

Tear down the walls, that hold us inside…

And I realize that I can do this now, by the grace of two mothers taking care of my children in the Netherlands. But I would like to -and do partly- also facilitate them that they can live this life.

And I realize there is a reason for me still living part time in the city (Amersfoort). I feel we can transform cities into more social vital places too. [Maybe future work, add link to vision paper on housing]. Although this might take some decennia to manifest. And I am happy to have found one of the ‘more social cohesive’ neighbors settings I have seen in cities. I am thankful for this and those people!

If you want to read more, the ‘Flowtowns’ [Maybe future work, add link] word is about this, and how we define ‘work’ [Maybe future work, add link] is about this. And you can read more in my Personal Transition Plan on how try to make steps in this direction.

And in such we might live more with each other… again.

And, and, not every one needs to life like this. If you are in a more stationary phase in your life: It is perfectly fine to remain where you are. But I think the life described above is not too strange for many people: Thousands of eldery people in the Netherlands stay in the warmth in southern areas already in winter. About a hundred of thousand Dutch campers and caravans drive south in summer, like a sort of human migration already being there, mostly aiming for… camp life

A 2018 New Years, New earths wish by changefellow Miko-Serko

Miko Serko I feel is a dear fellow changemaker. Working on many levels. I felt the sense to repost his message for the world on his Facebook wall here.

Miko-Serko Mamoribo-Carels
 [OnePeopleOneSoul] WelcomeHome RainbowWarriors <3 FlowFamily

There was an old lady, from the “Cree” tribe, named “Eyes of Fire”, who prophesied that one day, because of the white mans’ or Yo-ne-gis’ greed, there would come a time, when the fish would die in the streams, the birds would fall from the air, the waters would be blackened, and the trees would no longer be, mankind as we would know it would all but cease to exist.

There would come a time when the “keepers of the legend, stories, culture rituals, and myths, and all the Ancient Tribal Customs” would be needed to restore us to health. They would be mankinds’ key to survival, they were the “Warriors of the Rainbow”. There would come a day of awakening when all the peoples of all the tribes would form a New World of Justice, Peace, Freedom and recognition of the Great Spirit.

The “Warriors of the Rainbow” would spread these messages and teach all peoples of the Earth or “Elohi”. They would teach them how to live the “Way of the Great Spirit”. They would tell them of how the world today has turned away from the Great Spirit and that is why our Earth is “Sick”.

The “Warriors of the Rainbow” would show the peoples that this “Ancient Being” (the Great Spirit), is full of love and understanding, and teach them how to make the “Earth or Elohi” beautiful again. These Warriors would give the people principles or rules to follow to make their path right with the world. These principles would be those of the Ancient Tribes. The Warriors of the Rainbow would teach the people of the ancient practices of Unity, Love and Understanding. They would teach of Harmony among people in all four comers of the Earth.

Like the Ancient Tribes, they would teach the peoples how to pray to the Great Spirit with love that flows like the beautiful mountain stream, and flows along the path to the ocean of life. Once again, they would be able to feel joy in solitude and in councils. They would be free of petty jealousies and love all mankind as their brothers, regardless of color, race or religion. They would feel happiness enter their hearts, and become as one with the entire human race. Their hearts would be pure and radiate warmth, understanding and respect for all mankind, Nature, and the Great Spirit. They would once again fill their minds, hearts, souls, and deeds with the purest of thoughts. They would seek the beauty of the Master of Life – the Great Spirit! They would find strength and beauty in prayer and the solitudes of life.

Their children would once again be able to run free and enjoy the treasures of Nature and Mother Earth. Free from the fears of toxins and destruction, wrought by the Yo-ne-gi and his practices of greed. The rivers would again run clear, the forests be abundant and beautiful, the animals and birds would be replenished. The powers of the plants and animals would again be respected and conservation of all that is beautiful would become a way of life.

The poor, sick and needy would be cared for by their brothers and sisters of the Earth. These practices would again become a part of their daily lives.

The leaders of the people would be chosen in the old way – not by their political party, or who could speak the loudest, boast the most, or by name calling or mud slinging, but by those whose actions spoke the loudest. Those who demonstrated their love, wisdom, and courage and those who showed that they could and did work for the good of all, would be chosen as the leaders or Chiefs. They would be chosen by their “quality” and not the amount of money they had obtained. Like the thoughtful and devoted “Ancient Chiefs”, they would understand the people with love, and see that their young were educated with the love and wisdom of their surroundings. They would show them that miracles can be accomplished to heal this world of its ills, and restore it to health and beauty.

The tasks of these “Warriors of the Rainbow” are many and great. There will be terrifying mountains of ignorance to conquer and they shall find prejudice and hatred. They must be dedicated, unwavering in their strength, and strong of heart. They will find willing hearts and minds that will follow them on this road of returning “Mother Earth” to beauty and plenty – once more.

The day will come, it is not far away. The day that we shall see how we owe our very existence to the people of all tribes that have maintained their culture and heritage. Those that have kept the rituals, stories, legends, and myths alive. It will be with this knowledge, the knowledge that they have preserved, that we shall once again return to “harmony” with Nature, Mother Earth, and mankind. It will be with this knowledge that we shall find our “Key to our Survival”.

This is the story of the “Warriors of the Rainbow” and this is my reason for protecting the culture, heritage, and knowledge of my ancestors. I want my children and grandchildren to be prepared to accept this task. The task of being one of the……..”Warriors of the Rainbow”.

Eating meat might kill you

See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHdfeR8dfJo

Around Christmas 2017… I do my work during a journey, often in cafe’s.

And I see so much focus on eating meat (fish is for me meat as well).

I feel a strong conviction that eating meat is not good. ‘Treat life as you want to be treated your self’ (Mozes words translated to life in general). So everyone being ‘religious’ in that sense should not eat meat. Where did the corruption enter?

I realized that in ‘early days’, especially in winter times, meat was the only food. But as from now we can import food from places where it grows (which is also quite bad ecologically). Or we can even start to consider to follow the ‘natural food supply’: be there were it grows ((human) Transhumance thought). And, in addition a inner voice suspects eating meat to be ‘lazy’: Just shoot a bullet and you can eat. And a typical masculine ‘funny game’, doing ‘cool’ (hunting). Again, I hope strongly the more ‘care taking’ feminine side of us moves in. And we start realizing we can make beautiful food forests (which hardly need effort to maintain, no more yearly plowing and seeding, etc.), or adapt us more to ‘what grows somewhere’, permaculture, etc.

Which associates me to the mythical figure of Artemis… What I read is that she is the protector of nature. I also read that she is the goddess of the hunt. Well, I hope she hunts the hunters! (I cannot believe that this goddess hunts on animals for pleasure or food… do you?).

Habits. My parent were children of farmers. ‘Off course you eat meat’. ‘Without meat you will miss certain nutrients’. I’am afraid for the meat eat lovers, that this is not true (by eating balanced, fruits, vegetables, sport enough, etc.).

And, I have a strong feeling (which I cannot prove) is that eating meat has also something to do with our emotional harness and internal demons: The thicker our harness, and the more demons, the more desire for meat. But you may immediately forget this, as I said, I cannot proof this, and I don’t feel the desire to proof it.

For me not hurting animals is enough reason, In addition I believe via eating meat, you swallow in a super aggregated manner the ‘stress energy’ (of translated physically: hormones/ chemicals), which a animals collects in its oppressed life time (people who saw a ‘normal’ pig-farm from within, or a slaughterhouse will know what I mean, I have been there). And consider the maximum stress hormones an animal generates just before its forced and often cruel death. The fear, anxiety, etc., it is all collected in the dead body. Normally these stress residuals leave the animal within some days or weeks. But not with the meat we eat: the ‘animal’s cleaning up system’ stops directly after killing it, leaving all the stress hormones in… yes, the meat we eat.

What can this do with peoples emotional well being? (eating all these stress hormones?).

And than I don’t mention all the chemicals used to maximize growth of the animal and the food it eats, in the meat growing industry.

A ‘hopeful’ tendency for fish: Oceans get so much poisoned that the fish is already becoming poisonous for mankind (interesting cosmic resonance, that ‘fish’ in French is named ‘pois(s)on’ already;-) ).

And, as said earlier on my blog on ‘barking dogs’, I feel that nature cannot defend itself. And via cosmic reciprocal law, doing harm strikes back on us. Via ourselves: human to human (fight, rape, war, hurt, emotional suppression parents-children and the other way around, Fukushima like disasters, terrorists attacks, unhealthy presidents, etc.). [Listen also to Pink Floyds, On The Turning Away, …just a case of all the suffering…]

I read studies that people eating meat have a 40 % higher chance on (breast) cancer. If that is not enough reason to stop eating meat? Or, if one does not stop, maybe we should call eating meat -liking smoking- an addiction (or ‘escapism’). I hope we as humanity soon start become conscious on this addiction, without blame or shame.  And that we can eliminate the reasons for this addiction.

I am happy I don’t need to proof everything I write;-)

And in such the animals might live happily around us!

PS: Why is it, that manufacturers of cigarettes must add all kinds of horrible pictures on there cigarette boxes, and meat manufactures don’t have to do this (health risks might be comparable, the difficulty on letting go of the habit also…)? Raise a question to your political party representant on this?

PPS: Collective conscious does beautiful things, for those who did not see it, watch the movie Zootropolis. A crossover between the Flowtowns habitat concept and the essence of this blog article.

On Goodness

After my personal crash in 2008, I went to Biarritz France. Gazing at the sea I was thinking: ‘There I am, 35 years old. A new life ahead. The body thankfully in good shape, and thankfully I don’t have to go back to school!’ Reborn I felt, but rich with the experience and knowledge. ‘I want to be maximally happy’ was the first thought for my new life. This felt a bit egoistic, but than, I also understood that being ‘sound-full’ egoistic, is also an altruistic thing: You can only help others by being enough sound full your self.

Than there came: ‘I want to bring goodness to the world, and use my experience and talents for that’. The third saying in my conscious was ‘But what is goodness? How can I be sure for instance when I want to help to create a more sound banking system, I am not creating a bad system again?’.

That was a starting point for a quest which lasted for almost 1,5 year: My quest for a definition of goodness on half the size of a page. I wanted a compressed definition, not a big book in which people get lost, or can read ‘anything’. And I wanted to express it in such terms that it would be concrete: If I act like option A towards a person, is that option more good than option B? Goodness principles based reasoning I call that now. And it helped me a lot.

So, this ‘new’ definition is rocket science? No. I read many articles on the internet. I read philosophical books on ethics (strange that this field could not come up with a definition, maybe because this field is too much related to the ratio, and does not think with the heart?). And I did a lot of study on the major religions and the origins of there believe system. The essence I found out (or found back is maybe a better term) has been actually already there for thousands of years. So it is not my invention. You can read here which Principles of Goodness definition I made. And I invite you to do something like the same. Or at least, take once a year some hours to wonder on your definition of goodness, and whether you live goodness. A note on living goodness: I believe our universe works (quantum physics / spirituality) in a reflective way: the more you do good, the more goodness (happiness, fulfillment of your dreams, etc) comes to you. So better be good? Or even better: better act good. I prefer the practitioner of goodness above the preacher…

Next to your personal life, why is this goodness-definition so crucial? I wanted to create a ‘good bank’. After many months of research and designing and talking to people -and digesting the reflections they gave me- I found out that on the nowadays financial system it is impossible to design a good bank. I made a ‘balanced score card’ with which banks could be scored from minus seven to plus seven. They all scored below zero. Not strange, I took principles as ‘Does the organisation to something to somebody else, what it would not like to be done to itself’ (answer: mostly yes = Not Good).

I I did not have those principles of goodness figured out, I wouldn’t have been able to dig so deep to find out what I found out: before we can create good banks, we need to design good-money [More on Good-Money, or ‘Good-Currency’ you can read in the books Novaglobe or Deniesa’s Manifest]

Another act of cosmic synchronicity: I was on this journey of finding out about goodness, and sort of all out of nothing a girlfriend I had been climbing with gave me a part of tissue with the symbol below on it:

Figure: Basque Cross

She said: ‘Iwanjka, this is actual a symbol of goodness. Hitler and his allies turned it into something bad. As did the romans soldiers’. This girl gave me a representation of a quest I was working on (and as far as I know, she didn’t know about it).

So I already spoke on why this can be important for you as a person: by doing good, the chance raises you’ll ‘get’ what you want…

But than, what is in there for us as a society as a whole?

Well, for instance: Take a half hour, and watch the debates of our political leaders. I noticed that in say each sentence somebody says: ‘Well, I don’t think that is a good idea!’. I dear to state that if you would ask that politician (leader) ‘Tell me, what do you think is a clear definition on the word good´ ? It would remain silent.

So, what I want to make clear, is that as long if we don’t have debates on the essence like what is goodness, political debates are doomed to end up into mist. As they -for my feeling- many times do.

And the same goes for company boards, product designers, etc. And I think also in churches, between religious movements, etc.

I plead, with this article, for an upgrade of the focus on goodness itself. When we learn our children -our they learn us- about being good, bullying is over. When we find common sense on the essence of goodness religion based wars and terrorist attacks are over. Because, I believe, in essence each religious system has the same kernel in it. Based on what is good.

And I plead for a specific subject on this at Universities ‘the (con)science on goodness’. And at schools. And have training programs, role playing for instance, to play real life situations and how to apply the principles of goodness. Because it might seem simple: ‘Don’t lie to person X’, but what it it means that speaking the truth will hurt person Y deeply? There a so many nuances in applying ‘goodness principles algebra’.

An almost last note. This all seems a rational (head-matters) based story. In my wondering on the role of emotion, I figured out that next to use the ‘principles on goodness’, that our emotions might be bakens. More on that in a next article…

And than the final note… Within the banking system I have been information analyst, system designer, information system architect and system migration manager for about 10 years.

So, redesigning systems, based on clear requirements was my daily occupation. And in 2009 I thought: ‘How would our social ecosystem look like, when it was redesigned, based on principles of goodness‘? The result of this redesign, you can read in the Novaglobe book in this section. Not saying that the described direction is the ‘only direction’.

I hope to inspire policy makers, people working at university and schools, the ordinary and powerful. I hope to inspire artists, which have because of their reach a far bigger influential power than they often think. But are often reluctant to support specific political parties, because they don’t like the political system (see the redesign of this part named harmonicracy) in the Novaglobe book. After my experience in party-politics in 2010, I started a ‘topic based’ approach: I do not campaign for a certain party, I promote certain solution areas instead… I hope to inspire to use goodness as a base requirement in all things they (re)design and guide…

Barking dogs enter my consciousness…

No… this isn’t a part of some kind of a thriller tale. Well, maybe it is…

It is 2 december 2016, I am at Lanzarote for a 11 day stay. I wake up early in the morning due to barking dogs outside. I wonder on the phenomenon on which I have been wondering many times: why do I hear so often dogs bark, and what does it mean to me? I look at the clock 4:44AM. Feels like time to get up and write down the wonderings which I find within.

No animals behind fences
I asked a good friend of mine, who stayed at Findhorn, on the policy the people there have on animals. If I remember correctly he said ‘no animals behind fences’. I like that statement: short, clear and simple. And since then I try to live it my self.

For me the barking dogs expresses a not-good situation. And off course, there are historic reasons why the dogs are kept ‘in prison’: to protect a house or owner, I am told. Sounds logical.
But is that in ‘modern times’ a good reason? So, for me harshly saying, and many will say they do not agree: for me keeping dogs behind walls can be considered as animal mis treatment.

But… at the other hand, I don’t think it is a good idea to unleash all those ‘domestic’ animals: they don’t know anymore how to survive in nature. So, for there lifetime maybe let things as they are. And yes, many animals which where ‘taken’ as a ‘pet’ and after abandoned are better of in the care of some good care takers. But, maybe, it wasn’t a good thing to create baby dogs in a not-natural situation at all?

I believe…
I believe – for now, opinions might change- that in general:

“It is not a good thing to keep animals ‘behind fences’ for animation or feeding of humans”

And for me feeding pets with meat from the ‘meat industry’ also feels highly strange…

Quantum field or spirilogical reciprocity
And if the above is ‘true’… I also feel it is logical from ‘spiritual’ perspective that if we do harm to living creatures, harm will be done to us.

Another harsh statement… I often wonder why people ‘need’ to have a pet. I am fond of animals, but free. I cannot deny that when I wonder on this, I feel a connection with a deprived society. And I cannot ‘blame’ these people, because there feelings are logical and true towards the wish of companionship… if this is a reason. If these words are true. Many ‘ifs’…

Babies and pets
And… there is another feeling which raises to my mind: that people often seem to treat their pets as their babies (and babies as pets). And, another observation: when do people ‘take a child’ to fill ‘a (emotional) void’ (which also, as a parent, forces me to look in that mirror). When is creating a child a good thing?

Sharing and social connecting
I believe touching these ‘taboos’ and let all the feeling be, and express and flow, form the keys to a more good society. In many aspects, whether it is achieving a healthy human -stable- population on earth (less baby-birth), or less wars and animal and people abuse. And I feel that a more affective society, whether it is parent-child affection, or affection in ‘mini societies’ and more sharing, can lead to far more peace.

Conclusion: Affinity-full living settings and healing
That is why I find the concept of social ‘affinity’  in creating housing architecture so important. And ‘healing’ of the ‘wounded parts’ in us. And avoid wounding children into wounded adults which start wounding their children on their turn, etc.

And remember: guilt is a useless and sense less concept.

Sarah Morton wrote an important book on how the ‘wounded’ parent and ‘wounded’ child connects. The title and availability in Dutch (click the link): Wat je niet verteld is…

I try to express my self in a non violent communication way. My intention is not to offend anyone…

  • February 2018: On pets and cats… being at a Spanish campsite we put up our tent. We notice a lot of cats, I guess at least twenty. Already within some hours we smell cats urine… we inspect the tent, and we notice multiple spots of cat urine. Some studying on the Internet mentions cats start to do so if they are in distress. ‘In distress?’ I think… ‘Why?’. Than I realize that the cats have been dominated, domesticated. Taken from their wild nature. And now live a life of distress, partly lost their nature. And humans did so, and I think it was not their choice… Than I thought, what would be the most good respons to do now? For them, for us… If they keep on procreating, the place will be filled more and more with cats who are confused and -maybe- suffering. People told us some cats got already castrated, and that it has been far worse. I feel reluctant on this: I would not like to be castrated, so it feels not good to do it to another life fife form. But after some more wondering and outweighing pro’s and cons, I start to share the viewpoint that castrating might be the best option. And try to give them a good as possible cat life. And then, theoretically, this animal -maybe- abuse will fade away out of it self. At least as people do not continue breeding new domesticated cats for their animation or pleasure. At the same campsite there are at least 30 dogs. And there are signs that dogs are only allowed at a line. Quite some barking and ‘dog bosses’ pulling at the ropes and shouting and the dogs. ‘Poor dogs’, I think… same story. Crazy animals, those humans.

Transhumance and Global Warming

3 degrees celsius in Holland. I brought Maireall to school, and wanted to do some barefoot running training after. In about a week I intend to do a barefoot marathon in France (Mont Ventoux) to raise money and attention for the orphans and possible solutions for them in Malawi.

After seeing the temperature on a sign along the road I thought ‘Well, not today! Far too cold for me!’.

And that made me wonder -again- on why I am at a geographical location where it is too cold to walk barefoot. And the cold hurts me, yes it really does.

“Transhumance: seasonal trekking of the livestock – Wikipedia EN”

Already a long time I am wondering why people remain in the cold, often complaining, getting winter depressed, etc. Before my crash (2008) I sort of accepted that this was the way it was: you have to work locally, children are attached to a local school, limiting traveling to school hollidays. 1 or two times a short to the sun, if we are lucky we can affort it.

After my crash I decided to devote myself and years I had left on Earth to try to make this dream real. Why not?

And than, more and more people I meet having the same wish. The only thing that lacks is a fitting social architecture for this, and a sort of migration infrastructure. In which we can do our work, create food, meet nice people (family/friends) and arrange education for our children.

And… maybe another important aspect… In the North in winter people use a tremendous amount of fossil energy to heat that houses. Causing pollution, health problems and as it seems a global warming issue. An issue which is so big, that if we continue like this our children might encounter a dying earth, and dying and suffering people (hunger, weather catastrophes, breaking dykes (Netherlands), etc.)…

Cain and Abel
Wondering over this subject, and how we could manifest and infrastructure with bot would surf migrating people and static people, for some reason I had to think about the Cain and Abel tale. I looked it up. To my surprise I found this quote [wikipedia www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cain_and_Abel]:

Some scholars suggest the pericope may have been based on a Sumerian story representing the conflict between nomadic shepherds and settled farmers.[11] Modern scholars typically view the stories of Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel to be about the development of civilization during the age of agriculture; not the beginnings of man, but when people first learned agriculture, replacing the ways of the hunter-gatherer.[12]

I can imagine vegetable farms not to be happy with nomadic people driving their cattle over their fields, destroying their crops. But now a new opportunity entered my consciousness: Imagine we stop eating animal related products (I still eat quite some cheese this will be difficult for me too). In that case nomadic people don’t have to carry around with cattle. Hey can help the people who act als ‘place holders’ (guardians) to develop and maintain the cities / villages, or flowtowns as I started to call this concept. And than, via the transhumance concept we can finalize an already thousands years during human conflict. Which resonates with the essence of the tale of Cain and Abel.
