Flowconomy

Flowconomy replaces the function of the iconomy.

Iconomy (economy as-is)

Iconomy is about scarcity, competetion and gaining possesion . See the wikipedia on this. Flowconomy is about facilitating ‘flow’ of ‘things’ (people and material). And it is not about possesion. Sharing (weconomy), doing things together (like how Linux has been developed globally). And it takes the balance with our earth and other lifeforms as a basis. Not plundering it…

I name this ‘Iconomy’, because Economy has a total different definition than the nowadays implementation.

In essence the economy has a sound definition:

“can be traced back to the Greek words οἰκονόμος “one who manages a household” (derived from οἴκος “house”, and νέμω “distribute (especially, manage)”), οἰκονομία “household management”, and οἰκονομικός”of a household or family” [Wikipedia]

But nowadays economy is based on key ingredients: Consumer spending, Exchange Rate, Gross domestic product, GDP per capita, GNP, Stock Market, Interest Rate, National Debt, Rate of Inflation, Unemployment, Balance of Trade [See Economic Measures section in this link]

These are nearly all things we don’t want in Novaglobe.

  • We don’t want to increase consumer spending to be a driver of our world because it spoils the earth and it presses the people without reason.
  • We don’t want GDP as a main figure because it makes governments grow and disrupture our society like a violent cancer (see work of Raoul Schepers on this).
  • We don’t stock martkets because we don’t believe in companies which have free floating stocks.

More on this you read in the Novaglobe book, soon available at Amazon (for Dutch people: the ebook is already available at www.boekenroute.nl, author Iwanjka Geerdink).

And because the word economy has been defined with nowadays semantics (like pointef out above) we need a new word… as long as we keep on using the word ‘economy’ the world will not change in a good way…

Flowconomy (economy to-be)

Instead we believe in alternatives. Like foundations to do our trading with. The main difference is that foundations ar owned by society… And Novaglobe is driven by sustaining happinez and wellfare, not on a increasing ´iconomy´…

Some key characteristics:

  • Synergence instead of competetion.
  • Doing things in ecoblance with the earth instead of plundering it.
  • The first stap is to do things in synergy focussed ´vehicles: foundation, NGO´s, etc. No more Ltd´s, no more stocks (and insane derivates) as we know them.

Within the N0vaglobe book the Flowconomy and how to migrate to it is eleborated in more detail. Part of the migration approach is a Flowconomy Maturity Model (FMM) via which people and organizations can ´grow´ towards the flowconomy. The levels are defined as a number between 1 and 7. Within level 7, organizations and people are also fully detached of the money system as we know it now, and only do goodvalue trading or use a chivi based currency.
